Description [0001] The subject of the present invention is a method of recording, in a combing machine, the advancement of a fiber web with tear-off roller cylinders. [0008] The need to perform such recording operations must also be taken into account during the design of the combing machine. This necessity makes the design, and in particular the definition of the laws of motion that govern the alternating movement of the jaws, which is particularly difficult. [0009] Furthermore, such recording interventions involve long machine stopping intervals and verification procedures before recovery, with consequent loss of plant productivity. [0010] The object of the present invention is to provide a method for recording the intermittent movement of the feeding cylinder of a combing machine that satisfies the aforementioned requirements and overcomes the aforementioned drawbacks with reference to the known art. [0011] This object is achieved by a recording method performed in accordance with claim 1. [0012] The characteristics and advantages of the recording method according to the present invention will be evident from the description given below, given by way of non-limiting example, in accordance with the attached figures, in which: fig. 1 shows a gripper assembly of a combing machine, suitable for carrying out the registration method according to the present invention; fig. 2 shows a schematic side view of the gripper assembly of fig. 1; and fig. 3a, 3b and 3c represent the gripper assembly of Fig. 1 provided respectively with a different main wheel. [0013] A combing machine according to the invention comprises a gripper assembly 1 and a circular comb operable in rotation, arranged below the gripper assembly. [0014] The gripper assembly 1 comprising a gripper 4. The gripper 4 comprises a lower jaw 6, supported by a lower frame 7, an upper jaw 8, supported by an upper frame 9 and hinged in a hinging axis 10 to the lower jaw 6, and a rectilinear comb, integral with the lower jaw, in the front area of the same.
